Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill crash James Franco's 'Saturday Night Live' monologue

During the set, Rogen jokingly claimed he won tickets on the show and was excited to see musical guest SZA. "The movies I do with Seth get nominated for a stoner award".

Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and Steve Martin all played their parts in a totally-not-entirely-scripted argument about why Franco has been asked to host the American TV institution four times to Rogen's two.

James Franco celebrated hosting Saturday Night Live in typical fashion, by inviting his mates along to support him. After a brief back-and-forth, Rogen pretended the woman next to him wanted to ask why he had only hosted twice when Franco was on his fourth time leading the show.

After acting out his skit with Rogen and Hill, Franco pointed to Martin, who was sitting in the rafters.

A super-slim Hill joined Rogen in the crowd, and was bewildered that James was hosting as opposed to his brother Dave.

So instead, Franco took random audience questions.

"I'm just here to see the show in general; I didn't know you were hosting it".

If you think James Franco seems like the kind of guy that would start laughing then make you recall the story of almost throwing up on live TV thanks to him spitting fake blood in your mouth and face, then you're right. "I used to host 'Saturday Night Live, ' I used to be the center of attention, and I gotta say: I resent it, just a little bit", Martin yelled from above. "It's Franco", he responded, to which Hill replied: "Oh, Davey Franco?"
