Billy Bush: It was Trump's voice on 'Access Hollywood' tape

Bush, who was an NBC television host until he was sacked due to his enabling role in the Access Hollywood video, said the story "has hit a raw nerve".

Mr Trump was sitting with Bush, who at the time was an Access Hollywood host, when he bragged in detail about trying to pursue an unnamed married woman, then turned his attention to an actress on the set.

Bush said he hadn't read up on the allegations against Trump in the immediate aftermath of his own firing but eventually got up to speed: "As I read these, I said, 'Twenty women don't get together and say, 'Hey, you know what would be really fun?"

"There were seven other guys present on the bus at the time, and every single one of us assumed we were listening to a crass standup act", Bush wrote.

Former NBC television host Billy Bush accused U.S. President Donald Trump of "indulging in some revisionist history" for reportedly telling allies it was not his voice making lewd remarks as the men waited to film a segment for "Access Hollywood" in 2005. "I think we're forgotten by people who want to put party above all else and that's sad, because this should be bigger than politics".

Crooks is glad that Bush has stepped up to confirm that the recording (in which "he's basically admitting to the behavior that I was a victim of.") is real and speak out in support of Trump's victims, despite him doing so "months later". "I was there, you were there, that's your voice on the tape". Trump later said he never did any of the actions described on the tape, and dismissed his words as locker room talk.

"We now know better", he added, referring to the women who of come forward to accuse Trump of improper sexual advances. "Its leader is wantonly poking the bear". "Stop playing around with people's lives".

Bush sat down Monday evening with Stephen Colbert. He wrote in the Times op-ed that he has since gone through a lot of soul searching.

"None of us were guilty of knowingly enabling our future president", he said. "But all of us were guilty of sacrificing a bit of ourselves in the name of success".
