When Dragon Ball FighterZ was first introduced, fans wondered if perhaps the title indicated that the game would not include characters from the currently-airing Dragon Ball Super series. Specifically, Beerus debuted in "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods", which was later adapted into God of Destruction Beerus Saga; Hit debuted in the Universe 6 Saga and Goku Black debuted in the "Future" Trunks Saga.

In addition to the three new characters, the latest issue of V-Jump revealed two new features in Dragon Ball FigherZ.

V-Jump detailed the Meteor Special Attacks for each character, all of which have unique capabilities. According to V-Jump, he can create Spheres of Destruction, which explode when they come in contact with an opponent, and his Meteor special attack is God of Destruction's Judgment. He will also have Sphere of Destruction, a giant fireball move that was previously seen in Battle of Gods.

Hit's Meteor special attack is "I Continue to Grow", which stops time and unleashes multiple attacks one after the other. As expected, Hit will be a close-range character, relying on strikes and quick movement to get an advantage.

Finally, Goku Black, shown in his Super Saiyan Rose form, has an ability called "Work of the Gods", which begins with a hand blade attack that is followed by a clone attack. Goku Black also has Zamasu appear from time to time to bind the opponent. You and your opponent share the amount gathered. At this rate, it's likely there will be nearly no downtime between the final pre-launch announcement and when Dragon Ball FighterZ finally launches. The character Shenron arrives to make wishes come true once the seven balls containing stars are collected. The interesting thing, however, is that the pool of Dragon Balls are shared by both players, but only the person who launches the appropriate combo to get the seventh one can summon Shenron.
