Claude Puel, Manager of Leicester City arrives at the stadium prior to the Premier League match between Newcastle United and Leicester City at St. James Park on December 9, 2017 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

"I saw him last season in the under-21 games and he can play in different positions for me", he told the Leicester Mercury.

The former Lille boss confirmed that duo Matty James and Robert Huth, who has yet to feature for the Foxes this season following an ankle injury, are closing in on a return to first-team football, although Wednesday night's game is likely to come too soon for the pair.

At Southampton, his side managed just 17 league goals at home all season, and it was him who took all of the blame.

Puel's lone season at Southampton saw the club finish eighth in the league and reach the League Cup final. Even so, Southampton had a decent 2016/17. The Foxes are not as good as they once were but this is still a side that has enough talent to challenge most sides in the Premier League and they will need to do that in this game if they want to win.

Okazaki was instrumental when called upon during Leicester's 3-2 victory at Newcastle, but suffered a head injury that made him doubtful for the Southampton game.

"Other people decided to make comments about our play, about results or other things", he said. "He is just at the beginning of his career and he needs to keep working with a positive attitude".

"Other people decided to make comments about our play, about results or other things", Puel said ahead of Wednesday's clash. "I hope the fans remember our good times of course, like the journey in the cup and the final".

The 56-year-old pointed towards the success he had on the south-coast. "It was great at Wembley, they are good memories", he said.

Dušan Tadić has massively stepped up his game as a centre-attacking-midfielder in the past few games and claimed his 26th Premier League assist for Southampton in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Arsenal - only club legend Matt Le Tissier's 64 assists beats that amount.

Claude Puel has seemingly found his preferred system at Leicester City and is expected to field an unchanged starting line-up for a third consecutive match on his return to St Mary's Stadium.

As Claude Puel prepares for his home coming, he'd have a point or two to prove at a place where he was once doubted.
