Jeremy Kerley blames 'ghosts' for positive drug test

New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley is eligible to return from a four-game PED suspension this weekend when the team travels to take on the New Orleans Saints. You know, the ghost of Christmas past?

Jeremy Kerley had an unusual explanation after he tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance.

As for the "investigation" into his positive drug test, Kerley told reporters, "I ain't got time to investigate it".

The 5-foot-9, 188-pound receiver returned to practice on Wednesday but still hasn't been returned to the 53-man roster.

At the time of his suspension, Kerley was third on the Jets with 22 catches for 217 yards and also served as the team's main punt returner.

When he was first suspended in November, Kerley issued a statement that he was going to "investigate this matter until I am able to figure out what caused the positive test". "I have and will always be a clean player". He had appeared in all 16 regular season games each of the last three years, meaning even if he does play in each of the team's final three games, he'll set a new single-season low. He re-signed with the Jets in September after spending last season with the San Francisco 49ers.

In all seriousness, I would love to see Kerley not use this in a tongue-in-cheek fashion as he defense during some sort of appeals process.
