Xbox Party Chat Is Coming to Your Phone Soon

The Xbox App is available on iOS and Android, but the beta seems to only be available on the latter.

Though the Xbox app is available on both Android and iOS devices, this new beta is only now available on Android through the Google Play Store.

When opening the new app, you'll see an introductory video showing you all the new features now available on mobile.

I use the beta app myself, and while the chat bubble feature still needs a whole lot of optimizing, I'm pretty excited about this new party chat functionality.

Meanwhile, users profile pages have been updated with links to their channel, level and "sparks".

Microsoft also said that the app's code base had been improved to boost performance and stability.

More specifically, since the beta the app has added push notifications to know when your favorite streamers (cough cough DualShockers) is going live, a switched up display to ease navigation, and the ability to switch up video quality and toggle both audio and chat. There are also improvements to allow viewers to join in on streams with interactive components, too.

The launch comes at a time when Microsoft is trying to gain ground in mobile gameplay streaming, in a market where Amazon-owned Twitch has been dominating. It is still available on Android devices as well.
