Moore Space Drama Series

Apple has given a straight-to-series order to a space drama from the Battlestar Galactica developer. However, the series will apparently focus on an alternate timeline where the global space race never reached its conclusion, which will certainly give Moore plenty of scope to explore some of those deep themes that made Battlestar Galactica such a beloved show. The new project will be written by Moore and also has Fargo co-executive producers Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi on board.

The win for Apple comes largely thanks to their hiring of former Sony Pictures Television executives Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, who joined the company back in June.

Moore, who is now executive producing Starz's Outlander, will write and executive-produce the as-yet-untitled one-hour program.

Apple has ordered yet another TV series to add to its growing list of star-backed original productions. The first is a reboot of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories anthology, while the second is a morning show drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

In addition to Outlander and this new series, Moore also co-wrote and executive-produces Amazon's upcoming Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams.

There's no news on when Moore's show will be released, but his experience is reason enough to get excited.
