Donald Trump to present award to 'most dishonest and corrupt' media outlets

He has quite often described these popular media houses as "fake" media.

"I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o'clock. Stay tuned!" he tweeted.

One outlet left in the cold is Fox News.

The tweet was the latest shot in a longstanding battle between the president and what he's derided as the "fake news media". Donald Trump may be serious about announcing these awards but Twitter was quite amused with the idea and did what they usually do with many of Donald Trump's tweets - troll him. They are all bad. You are fake news.' when pressed to allow Acosta to speak.

Late in the evening, Fox News listed out some news stories of other networks that later bear out to be erroneous. He'll be vying for another set of media awards this year, #TheFakies Awards.

President Trump has frequently slammed the media before and after he took office on January 20, 2017. "And we want to hear from you", the email read.

He insists, however, that the fake news media is not his enemy, but the American people's enemy. '2018 will be a great year for America!'

The Trump campaign's email links to a poll where participants can vote on three media stories as "fake", "faker" or "fakest" news.

ABC News incorrectly claiming Trump ordered Michael Flynn to contact Russian officials while a candidate. Sometimes he targets one particular network, the CNN, as the bearer of fake news, while at other times, he targets well-sourced stories containing potentially embarrassing details about his administration, particularly with regard to the Russian Federation investigations.
