Prince of Persia creator, Jordan Mechner, recently responded to tweet revealing that he, along with others who have worked on the franchise, hope to resurrect it for a new generation.

Although Prince of Persia was an extremely favored and well-known franchise at one point in time, the series' popularity dwindled, particularly during the last generation of consoles. Interestingly enough, just yesterday when model Chrissy Teigen asked for gaming advice - this very topic of Prince of Persia came up with fans asking her to use her influence to bring the game back if she liked it so much. However, by the end of the PS3/Xbox 360 era, the series seemed to be put on ice and the Assassin's Creed franchise appears to have taken its place. Ubisoft Montréal also piped up: "Unfortunately, the Prince of Persia franchise is still on pause at the moment".

There there are many people out there who would be interested in the Prince of Persia series. Mechner was behind the original Prince of Persia game that launched in 1989 and has been on board to help with other entries in the series, including the 2001 reboot that relaunched the series into stardom.

Do you believe Prince of Persia will make a comeback in the near future? Most of the games normally tend to have the same storyline where both Assassins and the Templars search for the Apple of Eden. Let us know by commenting in the comments section below.
