It is one of several Berkshire units to take its parent's name, which is closely associated with Buffett, the world's third-richest person and one of its most admired investors. It remains to be seen whether the company will lose its lustre without the Oracle of Omaha.

The conglomerate, with names as diverse as Dairy Queen ice-cream shops to Fruit of the Loom underwear to GEICO vehicle insurance, expanded its board to 14 members, with Berkshire energy chief Gregory Abel and Berkshire reinsurance president Ajit Jain filling the new slots. Mr. Jain, the longtime head of Berkshire's vast reinsurance operations, will serve as vice chairman of Berkshire's insurance operations.

The legendary investor's departure would put the company into unchartered territory for retail investors. At 66 years old, Jain is also older than Abel, 55, which could be an impediment to his getting the top job, especially given Buffett's past comments that the company's next CEO "should be relatively young, so that he or she can have a good, long run in the job".

"I feel terrific. I love what I do".

Going move backward a period of six month analysis we come to know that stock soared 21.80% giving rising alert for Investors. "There's nothing I'd rather be doing".

"In terms of cryptocurrencies, generally, I can say with nearly certainty that they will come to a bad ending", the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway told CNBC in an interview.

Greggory Warren, a Morningstar analyst who follows Berkshire, said in 2016 that Abel's experience in acquisitions would make him qualified to invest Berkshire's money as CEO.

Buffett and Charles T. Munger, Berkshire's vice chairman, will retain their board positions. That set off speculation that the race to succeed Mr. Buffett was down to two. The CEO is known for many things-his love of ice cream for breakfast and Cherry Cokes-but he's also known for managing a company that has beaten the S&P 500 index of U.S. stocks in 36 out of the past 52 years. His son Howard will be chairman.

The conglomerate announced Wednesday that it would expand its board of directors to 14 members, adding Gregory Abel and Ajit Jain. Aside from Buffett, Jain and Abel are the only Berkshire executives who are on the company's board.
