His appointment comes after Matt left the show earlier this week.

On Friday morning's episode of Good Morning Britain, I'm A Celebrity finalist Iain Lee put himself forward to become the Dancing On Ice commentator after Matt Chapman quit the role after just one week.

'Dancing On Ice' continues on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.

DANCING On Ice was only one week old when someone left the show.

Matt, who normally works on horse racing, joined the series this year replacing Tony Gubba who passed away in 2013.

Matt confirmed he had made a decision to "leave the rink and return to the turf" after viewers had a mixed-response to his style of commentating on Sunday night, prompting him to tell ITV that 'perhaps it wasn't for him after all'.

Matt, who is a sports commentator for ITV, quit the dancing competition yesterday because "he couldn't make his diary work" after initially thinking he could juggle previous work commitments.

A telly source said: "Sam is a talented commentator".

Speaking to The Sun, Matt claimed it was his decision to walk away from the show, saying: "I've chose to hang up my skates, leave the rink and return to the turf and I wish the show the best of luck for the rest of the run".
