Our sources say this is the closing announcement of the direct.

Dark Souls: Remastered is also coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 consoles, with the added bonus of supporting 4K resolution if you own a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, or have the proper PC hardware to support it.

FromSoftware's Dark Souls gained fame, or rather infamy, for being a challenging title that was unforgiving to players that made mistakes. I am concerned about the Switch release, as I can imagine many a broken console for newcomers.

It's now believed that this port is being developed by an outside studio commissioned by From Software. These ports are being handled by a separate company from the Switch port, and will feature rebuilt lighting and SFX based on Dark Souls 3, as well as upscaled textures. Furthermore, there are rumors that suggest the game's multiplayer modes will be expanded to incorporate six concurrent players.

In order to reach a more broad audience and re-release one of its most beloved franchises, Bandai Namco is bringing a remastered port of the original Dark Souls games across a slew of platforms.

The original Dark Souls turns seven this year, and we're just now starting to feel the full weight of its influence. Xbox, PC, and PlayStation fans likely need no introduction to the series, but the remaster marks the first time Nintendo fans get a chance to die over and over again. Since the Nintendo Direct mini is supposed to air today, it won't take long to know if Dark Souls is indeed coming to Nintendo Switch.
