Xbox, PC, and PlayStation fans likely need no introduction to the series, but the remaster marks the first time Nintendo fans get a chance to die over and over again.

Shortly after Nintendo revealed Dark Souls: Remastered during this morning's Direct Mini, publisher Namco Bandai revealed that the game is also coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The box set is slated to release the same day as Dark Souls: Remastered on May 24, 2018. While there's a lot of cool stuff in this bundle that hardcore Dark Souls fans are sure to love, that's a steep price to pay, especially considering most people probably already own Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III.

On Switch, it will run at a resolution of resolution 1080p at 30fps in TV mode. From their first timid steps to absolute mastery, players build characters by strategically adapting to daunting foes, exploring haunting locations, and amassing a large collection of weapons, armour and magic spells.

Yes, Dark Souls is finally making its way to a Nintendo system.

Along with those core items, the box set squeezes in a pair of bookends, an encyclopedia, and artwork. As of yet this has not been announced for other regions. It's a beloved, influential game that is critically acclaimed and has a fanbase as passionate about it today as they were when it originally launched in.

However, the Twitter user notes that even if the game is being remastered for PS4, don't expect details to be revealed soon.

"Dark Souls requires intense focus", he said. And that's what makes it so riveting.

FromSoftware's original Dark Souls is getting a remaster later this year, letting everyone practice their rolling and get used to the unforgiving combat in high definition. It's considered one of the best games of the previous generation. "Dark Souls doesn't just surpass other dungeon crawlers; it skewers them with a razor-sharp halberd and leaves behind their soulless corpses".
