Florida mother mistakenly robbed, killed in love triangle gone awry

Investigators say the suspects continued to rob and kill Zengotita-Torres even after they realized she was the wrong target.

As per agents, Ishnar Marie Lopez-Ramos was hoping to kill a lady who was included with a man she additionally had sentimental affections for, as indicated by Fox 35.

Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson amid a news meeting Friday told correspondents the suspects purposefully focused on the 42-year-old Kissimmee inhabitant due to an instance of mixed up character.

"Every one of the three affirmed this was a murder for enlist and that the casualty was erroneously focused on and killed", the Sheriff said. They followed Janice Zengotita-Torres home and forced her into the back of her auto. They forced her into the trunk of her own vehicle.

The hijackers at that point professedly constrained Zengotita-Torres to give them her ATM card and data so they could pull back cash from her record. That woman, who was never harmed, and Zengotita-Torres, who was married and the mother of a 14-year-old boy, were co-workers.

Gibson said that's when Ramos and Rivera realized they had abducted the wrong person, but chose to continue with their plan.

The suspects tied Zengotita-Torres with zip ties, covered her head with a garbage bag then Rivera beat her until she was unconscious, according to authorities.


"The suspects showed no regard for this victim, causing her to die from suffocation because the garbage bags were wrapped around her head", Gibson said. Gibson said they abandoned the vehicle in Orange County.

Investigators say Janice Zengotita-Torrres, 42, was killed after being mistaken for the target in a murder-for-hire plot in Osceola County, Fla.

One station reported that Gibson choked up as he announced the arrests.

Gibson said the suspects had moved to central Florida from Puerto Rico in December.

The sheriff said investigators ed the intended victim and offered protective services, but she declined. "This mother, this wife, this daughter, for no reason at all", Sheriff Gibson said.

Lopez Ramos is facing a first-degree murder charge.
