In a shocking turn of events, former TNA World Heavyweight Champion and recently released WWE Cruiserweight Austin Aries made his return to Impact Wrestling and is now the new IMPACT World Champion.

Last night's set of Impact Wrestling TV tapings brought several major developments, including the scrapping of the company's famous six-sided ring and a potentially serious injury to former Grand Champion Moose. Aries ended up challenging Drake for his title and won it minutes later.

The currents belts are still from when the promotion was branded as Global Force Wrestling. However, Cage has instead chose to sign for Impact Wrestling and during tonight's television tapings in Orlando, Florida, Cage made his debut for the promotion.

Aries has been making waves in many promotions such as Defiant Wrestling in the UK

Fans have come to expect a few changes whenever a new regime takes over at Impact, and it seems that this one is wasting no time when it comes to making those changes.

We'll have more from the tapings later.

This marks Aries' second reign with Impact's top championship.
