But what if you could not only hear that forecast from Alexa, but also see the weather prediction being depicted in a very realistic way across the inside of your new smart glasses?

Next week, during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, a company named Vuzix will introduce a new pair of AR smartglasses that will feature Amazon's virtual personal assistant Alexa. The CEO acknowledges that is a significant amount of money to drop on smart glasses and says the goal is to bring the price down to $500 by 2019. Vuzix has also teased that Amazon could launch its own Alexa-enabled AR glasses soon.

Vuzix Chief Executive Officer Paul Travers said that his Company will release its AR glasses by the second quarter at a cost of about US$1,000, Travers said. The Vuzix stock (VUZI) jumped on the reveal of the Vuzix Blade, mostly because of the Alexa integration.

Vuzix is a leading supplier of Smart-Glasses and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets. Similar to what Google Glass offered in the past, the Vuzix glasses superimpose digital information on top of the glasses to help users connect with Alexa assistant alongside looking at the real world. Vuzix holds 59 patents and 42 additional patents pending and numerous IP licenses in the Video Eyewear field. These manufacturers have debuted brand new PC models that are created to work with Alexa at this week's International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The latest development is a lightweight solution of the AVS Device SDK that the company launched previous year to let OEMs start integrating Alexa into their Bluetooth-supported connected devices. Subsequent events and developments may cause these forward-looking statements to change.
