Merson predicts the victor of the clash between Tottenham and Everton

Cenk Tosun is set for his Everton debut against Tottenham, who have an opportunity to put pressure fourth-placed Liverpool, in the late kick-off at Wembley this evening.

Everton have won only one of their last 43 Premier League away games against one of the "big six" (1-0 at Man Utd in December 2013) - drawing 15 and losing 27.

Everton may have lost their last three but Sam Allardyce's impact he been significant, turning the club from relegation candidates into top half contenders. A player the Toffees chief labelled - the best in Europe - at that price.

The game sparked into life at that point and Pickford had to make a double stop to keep Spurs at bay, parrying away efforts by Kane and Aurier and then diving to his right to stop another shot from the England striker three minutes later.

And soon after it came.

Son was not to be denied four minutes later when the South Korean was on hand to turn home Serge Aurier's cross.

Kane had been largely thwarted throughout the opening half. Son drove in from the left, leaving him with the simplest of opportunities from close range. Then, Son went even closer, but could only look on in anguish as his vicious left-footed attempt cannoned back off the foot of a post.

Scoring goals isn't something Tottenham struggle with - especially with Harry Kane in this sort of form.

He added: "It will be a tough game to play because of the quality of their side, but you hope Wembley will bring the best out of our players because they have the chance to play in such an iconic stadium".

"Tottenham beat Real Madrid this season in the Champions League".

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is the first Premier League boss to be named manager of the month four successive times after winning the December award.
