The incident took place at Washington after Hood was ejected for his second technical foul of the game with 2:21 remaining in the third quarter of Utah's 107-104 victory over the Washington Wizards.

The fan appeared to be taking a photo or video of the 6-foot-8 guard's exit from the court.

Rodney Hood found that out the hard way on Friday, as he was suspended $35,000 for slapping away the phone of a fan after he was ejected on Wednesday night.

"I apologized to the man".

Hood will be available to play Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets.

Pro tip: don't stick your phone in anyone's face, but especially don't stick your phone the face of someone who just got removed from a basketball game for being too angry. Boston's Kyrie Irving and Los Angeles' Austin Rivers previously were fined $25,000 for heated interactions with fans involving foul language.

The 6-foot-8, 206-pound sharpshooter has averaged a career-high 16.5 points per game this season as the Jazz have struggled to a 17-24 record.
