FOX has changed the release dates for several upcoming films in the "X-Men" series including the highly anticipated "Deadpool 2" starring Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin.

And finally, Josh Boone's The New Mutants - which was due to open in April - will now hit theaters on February 22nd, 2019 - nearly ten months later than originally planned.

The new May 18 release date for Deadpool 2 puts it a week ahead of, instead of arriving a week later.

While this is good news for Deadpool fans, it's bad news for those anticipating the release of the X-Men movie The New Mutants. The film will open against against horror film 'Slender Man', and the move leaves the June 1 date without a film opening. And if you've been looking forward to Gambit, you'll now have to wait until June 7th, 2019 to see it and not February 14th, 2019.

This means with the acquisition of Fox's movies and television companies, Disney will have a blockbuster summer with Avengers: Infinity War releasing on May 4 in the US, Deadpool 2 on May 18 followed by Han Solo movie.

"Gambit" has undergone all sorts of problems in development with three different directors leaving the project including Gore Verbinski, who just exited the film earlier this week.
