"I look forward to briefing some of the details on Tuesday", Jackson said in a statement.

President Trump is set Friday to undergo his first physical exam since taking office - a move that could offer a rare public snapshot of the 71-year-old leader's health. But Jackson promised to brief the press on "some of the details" Tuesday.

The president's annual physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is a routine practice, but Trump's exam has taken on heightened scrutiny amid questions about his mental fitness.

The White House had made clear that Trump's examination would not include a psychiatric exam. Results of past presidential physicals have included basic data like weight, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

But even if these tests are conducted, it is unlikely that we will learn the results. "Whether it be up before dawn and up into the wee hours of the morning every day, it's been widely reported he only needs a few hours of sleep".

Physical exams for presidents have been a norm since Richard Nixon, according to ABC News, but they aren't required.

As a past president of the American Psychiatric Association, I feel strongly that my fellow psychiatrists, and any psychologists or therapists, should stop speculating publicly about President Trump's mental fitness and stop trying to diagnose possible mental conditions based on their armchair observations. His EKG, chest X-ray, echocardiogram and blood sugar were normal. After a physical during the 2016 campaign, a statement from his doctor said the 6-foot-3 NY businessman weighed 236 pounds.

Trump takes a statin to control cholesterol, baby aspirin to prevent heart attacks and Propecia to treat male-pattern baldness.

Trump was 70 when he took office, a year older than Ronald Reagan, America's next oldest president at the time of being sworn in.

Trump has said he gets most of his exercise playing golf.

As for his diet, Trump enjoys fast food, steaks well-done and with ketchup, chocolate cake and double scoops of vanilla ice cream, and reportedly downs 12 Diet Cokes a day.

"It better go well", Trump told reporters Thursday.

On Tuesday, the White House made a point of opening Trump's lengthy immigration meeting with lawmakers to reporters and TV cameras, a rare public look lasting almost an hour at the president conducting a policy gathering. In their recent book, "Let Trump Be Trump", former top campaign aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie described the four major food groups on Trump's campaign plane as "McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke". When he spoke to reporters on Air Force One earlier this week, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said it wouldn't be included in the physical, The Hill reported.
