Trump says Russia probe is a 'Democrat hoax'

The U.S. intelligence community concluded previous year that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election, and the special counsel's office and four congressional committees are now investigating both Moscow's role in the contest as well as any links between Russia and the victor of the race, President Trump.

That debate spilled into the open last week, when lawyers for Paul Manafort filed a lawsuit in USA federal court directly challenging Mr. Mueller's legal authority to investigate and indict the former Trump campaign manager on pre-2016 money laundering charges.

But on Wednesday, asked if he is open to meeting Mueller and whether he would set strict conditions, Trump told reporters at the White House: "We'll see what happens". No collusion. When I watch you interviewing all the people leaving their committees, I mean, the Democrats are all running for office, trying to say this that - but bottom line, they all say there's no collusion.

He explained that Mueller could ask Trump why he asked former FBI Director James Comey to take it easy on former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and why he later fired Comey.

Some of Trump's fellow Republicans in Congress have been saying they expect the House Intelligence probe and other congressional investigations to wrap up quickly.

Trump's attorneys are looking for ways to limit the President's exposure, including requesting Mueller abide by certain parameters for the interview.

"There was no collusion, everybody including the Dems knows there was no collusion, & yet on and on it goes".

He later claimed he was continuing to negotiate witnesses with Ms Feinstein in the Russian Federation probe. I suppose it's also technically possible that the F-52 is such a super-secret new fighter that we've never heard of it before now, although I'm not convinced that Norway would be the number-one market for that kind of tech.

The transition group's letter, obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, asked GSA to find the memo under the federal Freedom of Information Act and turn it over to Trump for America. Others say Trump should find a way to cooperate that limits his potential legal exposure.

As Trump mentioned on Wednesday, Norway plans to purchase up to 52 F-35s but the Norwegian government has authorized funding for only 40 aircraft to date, according to Lockheed Martin spokeswoman Carolyn Nelson. He called the investigation a "Democrat hoax".

Trump has dismissed the dossier and repeatedly denied that his campaign colluded with Russian Federation.

Trump criticized the Paris deal as "very unfair to the United States", and noted, "I am for massive oil and gas and everything else".

Ms Feinstein also sits on the Senate intelligence committee, which is conducting its own investigation into the Russian interference and whether Mr Trump's campaign was in any way involved. Following his lead, several GOP-led committees are now investigating whether the dossier formed the basis for the FBI's initial investigations.

"We must fight for liberal ideas like openness, but also about having a media that we believe in and that can sort between real news and facts and not so factual things", Solberg said.
