Woman Killed in Attack at Southport Store

She was taken to hospital, where she died.

The incident happened just before 1.30pm at the branch in Chapel Street and police say they believe it is "domestic-related".

A 30-year-old man from Southport has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Her next of kin have been informed BBC News reports.

A statement from Tui said a female staff member had been involved in the incident.

The travel firm added: "We're doing everything possible to assist the local police with their investigation and support our staff and customers at this hard time".


A police cordon has been set up around the store and forensic officers are carrying out their investigations.

At least 10 police vehicles and two air ambulances are reportedly at the scene in Southport.

In pictures posted on social media, crowds could be seen gathered at police tape in the busy shopping street.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We got quite a lot of different resources there, we've got air ambulances and ambulances and a couple of our advanced paramedics".

"One patient was taken to Southport Hospital".
