It's been a wild few days for Florida resident Shane Missler - he found out he won the fourth biggest prize in Mega Millions history, quit his job and now he's recieved an invite to hang with his idol, Harley Morenstein, the host/co-creator of the insanely popular YouTube cooking show, Epic Meal Time.

Missler has made a decision to opt for the lump sum of $281 million.

A 20-year-old in Florida just won $450 million jackpot.

Shane Missler revealed his staggering lotto win in a Facebook status update posted half an hour after the draw on January 5, writing: "Oh. My".

He shared the news with his father over coffee the following day.

Mr Missler bought the winning ticket at a 7-Eleven in his hometown of Port Richey, 40 miles (64km) north of Tampa, using a "Quick Pick" option that selects the numbers randomly.

Missler plans on plunking down some of the lottery loot for a new home in Tampa and then pursuing a "variety of passions", according to the Florida Lottery, as well as helping others.

The money will be paid to a trust run by Missler, the Times said.

"Although I'm young, I've had a crash course this week in financial management and I feel so fortunate to have this incredible wealth and team behind me", Mr Missler said in his statement to the Times. Missler told the paper that he planned to help his family, have some fun along the way, and make sure his financial success extended far into the future.

Missler said he wasn't surprised that he had won and that he had "a feeling" that he might.

Shane Missler matched five numbers and a bonus ball to scoop the fourth largest win in the United States game's history. He credits his good fortune to positive thinking.

"If there is one thing I have learned thus far in my short time on Earth it is that those who maintain a positive mindset and stay true to themselves get rewarded", he said.
