Bournemouth add to Arsenal woes with a surprise win

Arsene Wenger dropped wantaway Alexis Sanchez and he was missed in the encounter as the away side lacked a cutting edge all through the game.

Bournemouth heaped more misery on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, as they recovered from a goal down to win 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium.

Callum Wilson restored parity for Bournemouth in the 70th minute, stabbing home a cross from the right flank before Ibe bagged the victor.

Arsenal came close after eight minutes as wing-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles struck the bar with a curling shot.


Mesut Ozil was also missing because of injury and Arsenal's lineup looked a shadow of the past teams under Wenger.

Bournemouth were perhaps quite unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty before the break as Iwobi looked to have moved his arm towards the ball from a corner.

In search of a late equaliser, Arsenal brought on Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey but they were unable to rescue another desperately disappointing afternoon.
