DU student crushes man with his BMW vehicle at North Campus

In a tragic incident being reported from the national capital, a 50-year-old man lost his life after being mowed down by a speeding auto near Kirori Mal College, North Campus. "Shiv Nath was flung several metres into the air", he said, adding that Sahni fled the spot in his auto. The incident, which was captured on a CCTV camera, is believed to have taken place on January 10. He was accompanied by his friends. Taking the cognizance of the CCTV footage, Delhi police nabbed the accused student on Saturday for allegedly mowing down an elderly and fleeing away.

Nath was flung several meters into the air.

The youth has been identified as Abhinav Saini, who was later released on bail after recording statements. Police officers said that following the accident, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.


According to initial reports, the Sinha told police that the victim came in front of the auto from nowhere. As he was inquiring about the accident, vagabonds at the spot started abusing and threatening him, following which he panicked and fled.

The CCTV footage indicates, Shivendra can be seen crossing the road as speeding red BMW vehicle approaches him, he tries a sprint but fails and lands on the bonnet of the auto. A few moments later, the red-colored BMW hits him.
