The Haitian government has summoned a USA official to explain the comment, which Trump on Friday said he did not make.

There was global outrage after the Washington Post reported the alleged comments from President Trump with many, including Former President John Mahama describing the USA leader as a racist .

In a tweet Friday morning, Trump offered a shallow denial, saying he used "tough" language. The President and all those attending the meeting know what I said and how I feel. But there's no denying that the words multiple news organizations reported Trump said are consistent with comments he has made about race during his campaign and his presidency. Jeff Sessions, who became Trump's attorney general and whose former aide, Stephen Miller, is a top White House adviser to the president on immigration.

While Mr Trump announced the abolition of the programme for "dreamers" in October, he gave Congress six months to come up with a legislative solution.

Trump on Thursday questioned why the United States would want to have immigrants from Haiti and African nations, referring to some as "shi**ole countries", according to two sources familiar with the comments.

In Senegal's capital Dakar, administrator Idrissa Fall said "we can not really say that he (Trump) is wrong".

On the other hand, we've got the Paragon of Virtue-Signalling condemning Trump as a "racist" for his words, while her actions actually harmed the nation she is verbally trying to defend. Barely a year ago, America's first black president, Barack Obama, marked his final King Day in office with his usual community service; now, his successor is presiding over a racial backlash the country has hardly seen in more than a generation.

"I have a wonderful relationship with Haitians", he said on Twitter, adding that Democrats had made the accusations up. Trump's alleged comments came one day before the eighth anniversary of the natural disaster.

USA president Donald Trump has offered a partial denial in public over his extraordinary remarks disparaging Haitians and African countries - but privately defended them, according to an insider.

"This is not just a story about vulgar language", he said.

United States missions went into damage control mode.

For years, a movement to limit the number of migrants into the US and end a system that favors family members of legal residents has had to fend off criticism that it's as a poorly veiled attempt to produce a whiter America.

Former senior U.S. diplomat Nicholas Burns tweeted that the "damage overseas from Trump's ignorant and racist remarks can't be exaggerated". Meanwhile, Trump's actions are actually provably helping minorities in America with, you know, real things that minorities need, like jobs and stuff.

Trump went on to say that we should focus on bringing people from countries like Norway.

The 6-foot-3 Trump weighed 236 pounds (107 kilograms), and his body mass index, or BMI, of 29.5 put him in the category of being overweight for his height.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, Wis.: "So, first thing that came to my mind was very unfortunate, unhelpful".

But Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said by Durbin to have voiced objection to Trump's comments during the meeting, issued a statement that did not dispute the remarks.

"We have seven days and the clock is ticking".

Nevertheless, the uproar has revived attention on previous remarks by Trump that have ignited accusations of racism.

He has characterized Mexican immigrants as "rapists", repeatedly questioned the loyalty of Muslim immigrants, denounced NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem in protest at police brutality against African Americans, and made questionable comments about a violent white supremacist rally.

Trump, who vacillated between more moderate proposals on Tuesday and a hard-line stance by Thursday, further derailed the negotiations with a vulgar insult to immigrants from certain countries.

"The only thing that would attract me to emigrate to the United States is your vibrant multicultural society".
