Manchester United won't sign Vardy

Forward Alexis Sanchez has been left out of Arsenal's Premier League match at Bournemouth on Sunday.

City have made it known that they are unwilling to meet Felicevich's personal demands, believing the total package requested by the agent and Arsenal does not represent value for money.

Both clubs are willing to make Sanchez their highest paid player.

That has seemingly alerted United, and former Red Devils striker Yorke says Jose Mourinho should definitely go for the deal.

"At the general level what I can say is myself and Manchester United board, owners, we don't believe a lot in the January market we don't believe in sign a player just to sign a player, just to do something we don't believe in that, what we believe really is there are some players in football world if you have the chance to sign them in January, March or July, you have to try and that's it".

Manchester United entered the race when Txiki Begiristain, City's sporting director, told Arsenal that City would like to pause negotiations, looking to old out until the summer despite Gabriel Jesus' long term injury.

"He's come to the Premier League and been a success. You want players to improve your team and Sanchez can do that to United".

Manchester City were expected to complete the signing of Sanchez this month, however Pep Guardiola appears to have conceded defeat in the battle for his signature.

Sir Alex Ferguson famously signed Roy Keane in the summer of 1993, agreeing a deal with the Irishman on a Saturday when a paperwork issue had prevented Keane from signing for Kenny Dalglish's side the previous day. Now it seems down to Sanchez to decide whether he can wait six months for his favoured move to City, or if he will force his way out this month, even if that means going to United instead.

"What I can always say is United have always been interested in the best players out there", added Yorke, who scored 65 goals in 147 games during his trophy-laden four-year spell at United.

Given City have a 15-point lead atop the table, if Sanchez made the switch to the Etihad Stadium, he would nearly be guaranteed a Premier League medal.

"It comes as no surprise, even though some may think it's a bit of a cheap ploy".
