While all of the above is terrific news for anyone looking to have their ass handed to them over and over and over again, it's a particularly notable move for Switch owners and Nintendo itself.

Re-releases and remasters include the highly acclaimed Dark Souls: Remastered coming May 25, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze coming May 4, Payday 2 coming February 27, and Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition coming this spring.

You'll be able to pick up Dark Souls: Remastered on May 25 this year. Having already confirmed Dark Souls Remastered for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, From Software and Bandai Namco will also be releasing a full Dark Souls Trilogy Box set.

According to the Twitter user, Sassy, who posted a picture proof on his/her Twitter account suggesting that an online retailer has leaked Dark Souls PS4 Remaster. Moreover, the Artorias of the Abyss DLC will be included in the remaster for free.

Past year a journalist said on Twitter that a remaster of the original hard-as-nails RPG would be announced at a Bandai Namco on 15 December, alongside four other new titles. Expect the PC, PS4 and Xbox One announcement to follow shortly.

The tweet (which can be seen below out gallery) seems to detail a pre-order notice for the game, which is apparently due to release on 24 May 2018.

More information is starting to come to light about Dark Souls Remastered.

Developed by FromSoftware Inc., DARK SOULS: REMASTERED allows players to explore the twisted ancient land of Lordran in the first title of the critically acclaimed action role-playing series like never before. It'll feature "upscaled 4K resolution with 60FPS when playing on a PlayStation 4 Pro system, Xbox One X, and PC".
