Vehicle into building - 2nd floor - starts fire

A driver who police say admitted to using narcotics crashed his vehicle into the second floor of a dental office in Santa Ana Sunday.

A specialized truck had to be brought in from Los Angeles to remove the auto.

The accident happened around 5:25 a.m. near the intersection of French and 17th streets in Santa Ana, the Santa Ana Police Department said in a press release.

The incident caused a small fire that injured one person, who managed to get out of the sedan unassisted, the OCFA said.

This was the scene in Santa Ana on Sunday morning (14 January) after a vehicle launched into the air and crashed through the second floor of a dental office, becoming partially wedged.

The car's driver was taken to the hospital for observation.

Crews remove the auto from the second floor of the building about 7:50 a.m. on January 14, 2018.

Upon impact, a fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished.
