Many apparently believe YouTube needs to remove Paul's channel permanently, although given the growing proliferation of robot tweets in the Twitterverse, it's really hard to say which critics are real and which ones are Memorex.

Google Preferred features YouTube's most popular content in packages for sale to advertisers.

This move is in the wake of the recent incident involving popular YouTuber Logan Paul who was taken off the "Preferred" platform for uploading the video of a dead body from Japan's famous suicide forest.

The furor over Paul is hardly the first for YouTube, which last fall had to deal with gamer Felix Kjellberg - known as PewDiePie - using a racial slur in a video. You're right to be.

"YouTube manages the largest set of partners of any company in the world", ranging from young people trying to get started "all the way to Disney", Kyncl said.

While YouTube cast its net far and wide with new content regulations introduced a year ago after the, now the company seems to want to zero in on the most popular channels as their videos typically get the most views.

"We believe he's made missteps", Robert Kyncl, YouTube's chief business officer, told reporters at the Television Critics Association Press tour today (January 13). All of the original content Paul was developing with YouTube Red has also been indefinitely stalled.

Paul has not posted any videos in the past week, saying he was "taking time to reflect". The service released a new statement on Tuesday noting, "Many of you have been frustrated with our lack of communication recently". Three strikes, received when violating a YouTube policy, within a three-month period will cause YouTube to terminate an account.

"Plus he's left video evidence, on his own YouTube channel", said a former police detective, according to the Daily Beast. At the moment the petition has over 450,000 signatures.
