Eddie Howe challenges Bournemouth to build on 'positive momentum' against Wigan

AFC Bournemouth enjoyed a fantastic 2-1 victory against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, but Howe will nearly certainly shuffle his pack for this clash and the Premier League side are chalked up as a 39/20 (2.95) chance with SportPesa to send the 2013 FA Cup winners crashing out of the competition at the DW Stadium.

The Cherries had drawn 2-2 at home against Wigan in the initial tie but despite Eddie Howe naming a strong side, they collapsed to a 3-0 loss at the DW Stadium on Wednesday.

Paul Cook's in-form Latics looked to have done enough to seal their place in the fourth round on the south coast after taking a 2-0 half-time lead but they were denied by a stoppage-time equaliser and must now host the Cherries for a chance to take on West Ham or Shrewsbury.

"We have to make sure we make the right decisions for the team and the individuals concerned but of course we want to go through".

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has said that his side are "desperate" to continue their good form following their 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday. So you can't now suddenly have a short memory and turn around and go, actually let's scrap the replays now because we're in the Premier League.

"But I think it's important for us that we don't forget where we've come from, forget what it was like when we were in a different position".

Their 18-game unbeaten run was ended by Wigan's victory in the third round that year and Latics entered this contest hoping to increase a 12-match sequence without defeat. They know football and how tough these games are.

"We felt that Bournemouth were constantly trying to pass through us, and they have such quality in the team", recognised Cook.

"We don't have any fresh injury concerns ahead of Wednesday night", he said.

Forward Jamie Walker is unlikely to feature despite another of Wigan's new signings returning to training earlier than expected following a knee injury, while Shaun MacDonald remains sidelined.
