The top ten of the national football teams remained unchanged from December in the new monthly rating list of the world's governing football body, FIFA, published on Thursday.

The Black Stars ended the year in the 50th position and begun the 2018 by maintaining the same spot especially not being involved in any worldwide matches recently.

Germany continued to occupy the first place in the FIFA World Ranking, followed by Brazil, then Portugal, Argentina and Belgium in the number 5 position.

Africa's other representatives at the World Cup, Egypt, Morocco and Nigeria, sit in 30th, 39th and 51st position, respectively. Libya who top Group E dropped one spot to 89th and South Africa rose three places to 78th. Croatia stepped up to 15th, while debutant Iceland moved two places to 20th.

World champions Germany are still setting the pace globally with little change amongst the planet's heavy hitters.

In sixth spot is Spain, Poland are seventh, Switzerland, eight, France, ninth and Chile on 10th.
