Migos' Offset responds to backlash over "homophobic" lyrics

The Migos rapper has maintained he isn't homophobic, but is facing backlash from fellow musicians and listeners.

During his verse on YFN Lucci's new song "Boss Life", the Migos rapper spits the line: "I can not vibe with queers". The track sees Offset rap the lyrics: "60K solitaire / I do not vibe with queers / I got the heart of a bear / I bust 'em down by the pair".

In another tweet, one Twitter user pointed out the irony of Offset saying he doesn't "vibe with queers" when numerous designer brands the rappers likes to sport were created by gay men.

"I didn't write the line about gay people", he wrote.

Offset is yet to respond to the controversy.

"I can't even cancel Offset because I was never subscribed", wrote one exasperated user. "My passion for fashion has lead me to a lot of gay people around me who I have mad respect for and we are very cool so I'm not in a place where I'm hating like that". Others highlighted when other celebrities were publicly homophobic, like beloved R&B singer SZA, who made shockingly unfortunate comments about gay, black men. Lingo that means unusual or odd.I M S O R R Y I A P O L O G I Z E.

'All i'm saying is if you're a homophobe say it with your chest. Less than a year after Migos were accused of refusing to perform alongside drag queens during Katy Perry's "Bon Appetit" SNL performance, and just months after Offset said "the world is fucked up" for supporting rapper iLOVEMAKONNEN when he came out as gay, Offset has once again been rightfully skewered for his blatant homophobia. "That closes my case".

This isn't the first time that Offset has used the slur.
