A passionate speech at the Golden Globes Sunday Night gave way to huge speculation over Winfrey's potential to run. "I don't", she said.

Oprah Winfrey would comfortably beat Donald Trump in a Presidential election, a poll has suggested. "Good luck trying to beat Oprah", a tweet read. "Oprah would always be my first choice", he told Larry King back in 1999.

Trump has appeared on Winfrey's long-running daytime talk show on multiple occasions, even discussing his possible future presidency during an appearance in 1988.

Stelter admitted that, immediately after Winfrey's speech, he was on the phone with her closest friends and business associates to investigate if the speech was the beginning of a 2020 campaign.

CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King and longtime friend of Oprah isn't ruling out the possibility of a 2020 run.

But the deputy press secretary Hogan Gidely said, "We welcome the challenge, whether it be Oprah Winfrey or anybody else".


We have learned that the current leader of the Free World is not at all anxious about Oprah Winfrey possibly running for his oval office in 2020! Will she run for president? TVhosts were still fired up about her speech, which was premised around the awakening post sexual abuse revelations about film mogul Harvey Weinstein, but which ended up promising a new day, rendered in the rousing style associated with former President Barack Obama.

It's all up to Oprah now, the 2020 Presidential Elections are around the corner so she'll have to make up her mind sooner rather than later. She'd be sort of like me.' Trump stated at the time.

"Being in that room was electrifying", she added. "And now I'm thinking, 'Oh!"

According to a new Rasmussen Reports survey, which was conducted the Monday and Tuesday following the Golden Globes, Oprah Winfrey could be trading in her newest award for the Oval Office, Deadline reports.

The honorary award is given to performers for their "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment" at the annual movie and television awards show. Women wore black. The normally-red carpet was black.

"Which brings me to this: What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have".

Mr Trump has been accused by multiple women of sexual harassment and assault, all of which he has denied.
