Simon Mignolet considering his Liverpool future amid 'unhealthy' goalkeeper rotation

Mignolet, 29, aired his grievances at manager Jurgen Klopp's policy of rotating the goalkeeping position between himself and Loris Karius earlier this week and admitted that he is considering leaving the Reds.

He has made only 19 appearances for Liverpool this season and is unhappy with how he's being treated by Klopp.

Mignolet has since revealed he's thinking about his future past Anfield.

"Of course I am not satisfied with that, but I always have to respect the trainer's decision".

"After everything that has happened this season, I know where I stand, and the situation has become clearer". I have been in such situations before and have always come out stronger.

"I have to stay calm".

At the same time I have to think about my future.

"I will soon be 30, and the World Cup finals are coming around. My current situation clearly can't continue much longer", said a dejected Mignolet.

It's now Klopp's objective to land a new keeper this summer.

Alisson doesn't have a release clause fee written into his Roma contract but is valued in the region of £44m - a fee Liverpool would be able to pay after they scooped up £142m from Philippe Coutinho's sale to Barcelona. But signing the Brazilian number one may not be so easy.

Liverpool have already plucked Mohamed Salah from Stadio Olimpico in the past six months to the tune of £40m and, whilst Roma would find a bid of around the same figure hard to resist, would not want to weaken their side by selling to the Premier League club again.

Alisson is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in European football today and has also been on Barcelona's radar, but Liverpool are said to be the ones showing the most interest in the stopper, but he would cost a huge sum.
