Allison Shearmur, 'Rogue One,' 'Hunger Games' Producer, Dies at 53

A veteran executive and producer, Shearmur recently worked on such huge franchise titles such as all four The Hunger Games films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and the upcoming Star Wars standalone film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Allison Shearmur passed away Friday at the age of 53. In recent years, her producing credits include genre fare such as Pride, Prejudice and Zombies and Power Rangers. She joined Lionsgate as president of motion picture production in 2008 and oversaw the first two Hunger Games movies, then executive produced the final two.

Shearmur was also involved in the production of films in both the American Pie and Jason Bourne franchises, while she also served as a co-producer on the forthcoming film Chaos Walking, which will star Spiderman actor Tom Holland and Star Wars lead Daisy Ridley. She worked at Disney as a VP between 1994 and 1997 and oversaw films including "George of the Jungle".

A 1985 graduate of University of Pennsylvania, Shearmur attended law school at USC and was a member of the California bar association. She is survived by her husband Ed Shearmur and a daughter.
