The ships reportedly turned off their tracking devices prior to entering North Korean ports, traded what USA officials determined was "illicit cargo", and switched them back on as they headed to Russian Federation or Vietnam.

"We have strictly adhered to the resolution adopted by the U.N. Security Council as a permanent member", Lu said, adding China has repeatedly clarified its position regarding sanctions.

Satellite images collected by the US show at least six ships picked up cargo from North Korean ports.

The report, however, was refuted by China's foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying, who stated that Beijing had no information on this issue, emphasizing that the country "completely and strictly" implements United Nations sanctions.

Beijing's foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said Friday that China has "honored" the global resolutions condemning North Korea and has carried out sanctions, South Korean news service News 1 reported. In doing so, Trump also somewhat complimented China on its efforts in this regard.

But he said Russian Federation appears to be filling in the gaps left by the Chinese. What China is helping us with, Russian Federation is denting.

But the president has gone back and forth with his stance toward Beijing's relationship with North Korea.

The U.S. reported the ships to the UN Security Council, has imposed a number of sanctions against North Korea in response to its nuclear missiles tests, in December. "There will never be a friendly solution to the North Korea problem if this continues to happen!" -China relations and perhaps lead to more tweeting or denouncements from Trump.

According to the media outlet, in December, Washington asked the United Nations sanctions committee to blacklist six Chinese vessels, but this decision was never taken under China's pressure.
