The 447kW luxury high rider is being adapted by Bentley's motorsport division in Crewe before the prestigious event.

Bentley have entered their award-winning SUV, the Bentayga, into the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, taking place on June 24th in Colorado. It will gain a roll cage and other safety features required by regulations, but a spokesman told Autocar that it will remain "as close to production specification as possible".

In stock form, the Bentayga W12 is no slouch-it can get from 0-60 in just four seconds, and reach a top speed of 187 miles per hour. The suspension setup has an active anti-roll system that essentially eliminates body roll during fast driving, and is sure to be key in setting a record.

There's not too much information apart that that, but we're hoping Bentley will reveal more pictures, specs and data on its new challenger, soon.

The Bentayga will be entered into the event's "Exhibition" class as auto number eight, joining competitors such as a 2015 Dodge Viper, a 1949 Ford F1, and a yet-to-be-revealed Acura.
