Authorities say at least two people are dead after a auto and tractor-trailer collided in a crash involving at least 15 vehicles in suburban St. Louis.

N.C. Highway Patrol Spokesman Brandon Baker said troopers have not yet identified the driver and it's not clear what caused him to drive off the roadway.

Just after 3 a.m. on January 23, a UPS tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the road while traveling westbound on Interstate 64 near mile marker 206, crashing into several trees.

NYSDOT officials reported that the crash that left a tractor-trailer on its side happened in the area of Exit 4N-4S, just before the 81-17 split.

TV footage shows a vehicle wedged under the tractor-trailer. Four other vehicles struck the wreckage. Wheetley says those reports proved wrong once investigators sorted out the accident.
