Instagram has teamed up with Giphy to add GIF stickers as a new feature on Instagram Stories. Starting today, you can now plaster dancing cats and flying cheeseburgers over your photos and videos. Head to your Instagram Stories, and once you have clicked an image or video, open the stickers gallery from the options on the top right, or just drag up the stickers menu. "From bouncing letters and twirling hearts to dancing cats and pizza in space, these animated stickers help you make any photo or video amusing, interesting or creative", Instagram announced in a blog post, noting that the feature will allow users to tap into GIPHY's massive library of GIFs to find the exact right one that lights up a photo or video.

Searching for "accessories" will give you GIFs that you can layer over faces, while "effects" will surface those that can add ambiance to photos. There, next to the Hashtag sticker, you will now see a GIF sticker with a lens icon. From there, select the new GIF option, and a library of GIFs will appear. "In the coming weeks, we're also rolling out the ability to upload photos and videos of any size to your story - so you never have to lose part of a photo or cut a friend out of a group video", the post reads. In the past, images and videos would automatically adjust to the size of the screen, regardless of how you cropped ahead of time. You'll then be able to fill in the excess space with a customizable color gradient.

In order to check out the new features, make sure your Instagram app is up-to-date. GIF stickers are available Tuesday for both Android and iOS users.
