The Vanity Fair Hollywood issue boasts the most coveted cover of the year for stars of the big and small screen.

The cover, shot by the legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz in both Los Angeles and NY, features 12 celebrities, both up and coming stars as well as legendary performers.

The baffling mind trick is seen among Annie Leibovitz's shots for the magazine's annual issue which was unveiled today, and also includes Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Zendaya, Michael B. Jordan, Jessica Chastain, Claire Foy, Michael Shannon, Harrison Ford, Gal Gadot and Robert De Niro.

Foy reclines across Chastain's legs at the bottom centre of the cover while wearing a nude ball gown.

The cover article's author, James Wolcott, writes: "The films and TV shows represented by the actors in this year's Hollywood Portfolio-which for the first time offers a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot-took the #MeToo movement in stride, offering strong women in leading roles, as well as strong men supporting them".

Winfrey and Witherspoon, who star in the upcoming "A Wrinkle in Time" movie, sit together in the photograph while Witherspoon's "Big Little Lies" co-star Kidman sits in front of the duo on the cover.

Foy was listed as a crucial addition because of her role as the Queen in lavish Netflix series The Crown, along with Gadot as Wonder Woman, who are both "embodiments of their formidable characters".

And the United Kingdom is well represented this year, with The Crown's Claire Foy making the cut. "I do believe and I hope that we can elicit change through the stories we tell and the way we tell them". Watch below to find out who she's playing.
