Pokemon Go is always celebrating a new event, and the latest is Lunar New Year, which is getting its own, albeit short, event for you to take part in.

That includes fire dog Growlithe, electric dog Electrike, fairy dog Snubbull, wolfy dog Poochyena, and Eevee which is more a fox but we'll go with it. The event started on Thursday and will run till February 17.

Interestingly, not every dog-type pokemon in the game appears to be featured as part of this event.

As an extra perk, you'll also receive three times the usual amount of Stardust when you capture one of the above Pokemon - so you'll be able to power them up quicker. Say hello to Shiny Poochyena, and a few other doggie treats. You now have even more excuses to catch the pupper of your choice. There's also an ultra-rare Poochyena (and Mightyena) shiny variant on the loose!

Both the new Rainbow Rocket and more traditional Team Rocket grunt outfits are available and will set you back 950 coins for a full set. The first event saw only gen 3 Pokemon spawning and hatching, whereas the second event was in honor of Valentine's Day, which spawned Luvdisc that provided extra stardust.

To note, Pokemon Go, the augmented reality game that became a global phenomenon in 2016, returned to the top of the App Store charts recently, because of the newly added features.
