Just take a look at the last couple of letters in the second word, which include the line of the capital H cutting through the centre of the O (also seen in the new insignia, below).

As the Doctor, Jodie Whittaker is seen as a shadowy figure under a moonlit sky in the new snaps which show the new look logo for the first time. It's a departure from the logos of the Russell T. Davies and Steven Moffatt eras, looking a little more sleek and minimalistic.

"New Doctor, new season, new logo". They've just unveiled a new logo for the series, as well as a silhouetted poster of Jodie Whittaker's 13th Doctor.

Many have already pointed out that the line through the "O" in Who looks like a sideways Venus symbol, used in sociological discourse to represent women. The updated logo and insignia mark a new era of WHO.

Worldwide commissioned creative agency Little Hawk to create the brand-new designs, working closely with showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens.

The sound for the animated logo is created by Matthew Herbert.

"The Doctor Who logo and insignia are the quintessential signifier for the brand", said Rafaela Perera, executive creative director at BBC Worldwide.

The BBC America press release says merchandise with the new logo will be available from select retailers starting today, and I sure hope we get a version of this poster, because it would look incredible on any wall. BBC Worldwide is the global distributor for Doctor Who.

What Chris Chibnall actually appears to be doing is making sure Doctor Who is revamped to entirely fit his vision.
