So, Models Carried Human Heads at Gucci Fall 2018

Other models sported third eyes and baby horns, while the slightly more ~casual~ looks went with a simply boxy suit and face covering.

At Milan Fashion Week, Gucci was serving Game of Thrones realness in its Fall/Winter show.

Michele pulled out all the stops, sending some of the models down the runway carrying severed heads that were exact replicas of their own. The essay is a critique of identity politics and the idea that people must fit within predefined cultural boundaries.

The fake heads were eerily accurate, down to the hairstyles and the expressions of those walking in the show.

"Limiting fashion to something that only produces business is too easy", Michele said of the theme, according to Reuters. The New York Yankees logo appeared on multiple pieces, as did SEGA-inspired lettering and jewel-adorned ski masks.

The show space was ready for a fashion emergency - complete with surgical tables, overhead LED lamps, PVC-coated walls and floors, and panic bars on fire doors.

Just when you thought fashion shows could not get weirder, models walked the catwalk while holding severed heads Wednesday during Milan Fashion Week from February 21 to February 27.

But not all fashion fans appreciated the show.

"Gucci severed heads. yeah I love it", one commenter wrote on Twitter.

To make the heads, Michele reached out to the Rome-based special effects company Makinarium after he saw "The Tale of Tales", a film the company worked on. The process took six months with the artists using molds of the models' heads by making 3-D prints and scans.

What should we expect next season, Gucci?
