Peyton Superintendent Tim Kistler said multiple students reported the threat to the principal of Peyton High School and posted on social media about the threats.

Detective Matt Busick from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg was called to the Austin High School on Monday after a student had made an alleged threat to harm others.

Jayme Harcrow, the public information officer for the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, said Wednesday a 17-year-old student confessed to writing a bomb threat in a bathroom at Kirtland Central High School. They said their investigation determined students were not in danger.

The juvenile had reportedly threatened to shoot a school official at his home or take rifles to school and shoot him there. Officers say Flores told them that he never meant to hurt anyone.

Police then checked the suspect's house and locker and found "no indication of any firearms or ways to carry it out", Jones said.

The school received information about a threat posted to social media. That person is also in police custody, she said, and there is no immediate threat at this time.

"One thing that parents, I know that most parents have probably done this already, they really need to sit down and explain to their children how serious this is", he said.

The Opelika Police Department and FBI Agents were able to locate the 16-year-old students home.

Los Lunas High School sent parents a note that someone had made a threat, also on Snapchat, at that school.
