At just 53 seconds into the 7th round, Reveco would find himself on the canvas and was luckily spared any further damage when the referee had seen enough and called a halt to the action.

Donnie "Ahas" Nietes continued his 14-year undefeated run by knocking down Argentinian challenger Juan Carlos Reveco to retain the IBF Super Flyweight title at the Superfly 2 event in Los Angeles, California, Saturday, February 24 (Sunday, February 25 in Manila).

During yesterday's official weighin, Nietes came in at 111.6 lbs while Reveco tipped in at the division limit of 112. He eventually made weight an hour later.

Reveco (39-3, 19 KOs) downplayed his weight struggle and vowed to dethrone the reigning champion in his bid to win a third world title. "I want the biggest fights either at this weight or to move up", said Nietes. "I don't consider it work at all, so long as I feel good and I get opportunities I will continue to work hard and be ready".

Filipino-American fighter Brian Viloria and his Ukrainian opponent Artem Dalakian both weighed in at 111.4 pounds. "Every time that I'm fighting I have to show my greatest performance inside the ring especially here in the U.S".

"I'm going to the United States to become a world champion and to prove to everyone that I'm the best".
