The Blacklist's Megan Boone Says Her Character Will Never Carry an Assault Rifle Again

The move comes as gun control advocates continue to speak out in the wake of the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Many, including President Trump, have placed some of the blame on the graphic images children see in movies, television, and video games.

Megan Boone says that her The Blacklist character Liz Keen will never carry an assault rifle again.

Megan Boone announced on Friday afternoon that her character in the NBC show will no longer carry a rifle around.

Boone, who portrays Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Elizabeth Keen, also apologized for the show's attempt to make her having such a weapon look cool.

The actress made the announcement after the latest mass shooting at a school, where 17 people were killed by a gunman who used an AR-15.

The Blacklist, which co-stars James Spader as criminal mastermind Raymond "Red" Reddington, is now in its fifth season on NBC.
