Oscars: E! Considers Red Carpet Delay Given Ryan Seacrest Allegations

In November, Seacrest made the accusations against him public, by stating that E! was investigating sexual misconduct allegations made against him by "someone that worked as a wardrobe stylist for me almost a decade ago at E!" Ryan has received additional support from ABC, with whom he has contracts for Live With Kelly & Ryan as well as the upcoming American Idol reboot.

On Sunday Tarana Burke, the founder of the #MeToo movement, sided with those who think Seacrest should steer clear.

For a live show like the one Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic host, talent interviews are often pre-taped and aired minutes after they occur thanks to the frenetic pace of the red carpet and frequent commercial breaks.

This article discusses sexual misconduct.

This won't be the first time E! has faced drama on the red carpet.

"They really shouldn't send him [to the Oscars]", Burke told Variety. "Instead, my client proactively and publicly denied the claims and agreed to fully cooperate with E!'s investigation about the matter", Seacrest's attorney said.

"They aren't bringing another co-star up", Lawrence told Stern.

Or skip the network altogether.

The stars wished the Keeping Up With The Kardashians producer good luck on the red carpet via Twitter.

The LIVE with Kelly and Ryan host's girlfriend, Shaya Taylor, also jumped over the boards in his defence, calling him "the most respectful, well mannered, civil, gracious, loving, kind human being".

"I'm sure a few will still stop and talk to Ryan, but I would assume that there are several celebrities that will confront him based on this and/or build on the E! situation with Catt [Sadler]", the veteran publicist added. He has denied any wrongdoing.

Reactions to this news about Seacrest have been mixed: Kelly Ripa defended Seacrest on their show. Something pretty major is happening ...

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Ripa made an endorsement toward the 43-year-old host by stating that "you are a privilege to work with", followed by claiming that she is speaking for every one of the crew members of the show. "I'm a mom, I can do that". And on Wednesday, an anonymous male colleague of Hardy's corroborated her allegations, telling NBC News, "She would go to tie his shoe and Ryan would shove her head toward his crotch".

Meanwhile, the British police probe into disgraced pooh-bah Harvey Weinstein has grown with detectives saying there are now 10 alleged victims.

Cops in NY and LA are also investigating.
