Win some real golden bananas with new Sea of Thieves treasure hunt

Yes, you heard us right, no, this is not a joke, and yes, this is actually happening.

Xbox is celebrating the upcoming launch of pirate game Sea of Thieves by giving wannabe treasure hunters the chance to win a set of golden bananas worth more than £20,000 each.

Starting on Monday, aka March 19th, the above-mentioned pair are operating their own global digital treasure hunt that will reward the above lovely bushel of bananas.

Kicking off at 8.00am GMT on March 19, when the first riddle will be placed for players to solve, The Quest will the continue for the next three days as you and your team put your collective Thinking Caps on in an attempt to solve each puzzle. There are 15 fiendish puzzles to solve!

The final clue will be released on 21 March at 9pm GMT, when teams can submit all of their answers.

First announced on the premiere episode of Inside Xbox, the Quest for the Golden Bananas is essentially a digital treasure hunt which will see teams from across six countries (UK, US, Canada, Australia, France and Germany) compete for a prize of four golden bananas worth £80,000 in total. Teams will have seven hours to submit their answers.

This quest is going to span over a number of real-life locations.

Even those who don't come in first place won't walk away empty handed - runners up will be rewarded with limited edition Sea of Thieves golden "doubloons" valued at over £300 each. Do not fret; users will also get a couple of different prizes along the way, apart from the grand prize of the golden bananas.
