Danny Amendola reportedly will sign with Dolphins

It isn't a total shock he's leaving the Patriots, but rather staying in the AFC East.

According to Dan Hellie of NFL Network and other reports, the Miami Dolphins are expected to sign former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola. No terms on the deal have been reported.

Amendola, 32, spent the last five seasons with the Patriots.

Past year was Amendola's best in a Patriots uniform with 61 catches for 659 yards and two touchdowns in the regular season. He was arguably the Patriots' best offensive player outside of Brady during their three-game playoff run, catching 26 passes on 33 targets for 248 yards and two touchdowns.

And so, the Dolphins suddenly have a logjam at receiver.

Free agents can not officially sign with teams until NFL Free Agency begins on Wednesday at 4pm, but this news will certainly be hard to take for New England fans.

The receiver had taken paycuts in each of the last three seasons, and it looks like he made a decision to cash-in this offseason.

The Miami Dolphins just lost their top receiver in Jarvis Landry, whom they traded to the Cleveland Browns.
